I serve as an affiliated expert for Cornerstone Research, and Analysis Group, and from time to time serve as an expert witness in litigation. Cases I have been involved with relate to corporate finance, valuation of various types of entities, financial economics (including event studies and securities class actions), financial reporting, and complex tax matters.

I serve as an Independent Trustee and chair of the Audit Committee for Harbor Funds.

From time to time I have consulted directly with corporations on matters related to corporate finance, and particularly payout policy (dividends, share repurchases, etc.).

I serve as an editor for the Journal of Accounting Research, one of the leading academic accounting journals in the world. The journal is based at Chicago Booth.

From time to time I serve as an invited speaker at various types of academic conferences, for which sometimes receive modest honoria.
