Yuan Zhong

Yuan Zhong is an Associate Professor of Operations Management at Chicago Booth. Prior to Booth, he was an Assistant Professor in the department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at Columbia University. He received a Ph.D degree in Operations Research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and spent one year as a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, Berkeley.

Professor Zhong’s research focuses on the design and analysis of stochastic systems, with applications to core operations problems that arise in diverse technology and service sectors, such as cloud computing, manufacturing, and e-commerce. He is a recipient of the 2012 Kenneth C. Sevcik Outstanding Student Paper Award at the ACM Sigmetrics.
